Hey everyone,

Auckland was very fortunate to be invited to a movie premier just recently which was held by Dragon and Garage entertainment for the movie You & Me.

YOU and ME follows the extraordinary true story of Barney Miller, an active, life loving guy who was an emerging Pro Surfer. But life had something else installed for him when he became a quadriplegic 17 years ago when the car he was a passenger in, hit a tree at over 120kms an hour. Told by doctors he would never breathe independently or be able to use his right arm or legs again, Barney has defied all medical assessments through grit, self-belief, hard work and sheer guts.

 It was an amazing movie that really touched our hearts and really inspired us that if you put your mind to it anything is possible.

Barney has been a long time Dragon ambassador and one of Mick Fanning’s (world surfing champion) best mates.

Some of you are probably wondering… Raji who is Mick Fanning? Well Mick Fanning nicknamed “White Lightning”  is an Australian professional surfer. He has won the 2007, 2009 and 2013 ASP World Tour.

Barney Miller says “ I really hope that the message of the film that It’s never too late to live your dreams and make a change really gets out there. Despite those 10 years in the chair before I made my rehabilitation my priority, I just keep moving forward towards my goal of walking again. I know I will get there because not only do I believe in myself and am prepared to put in the training required, but I am surrounded by supportive loved ones who are right there beside me cheering me on every step of the way!”

How awesome is that, despite the odds he kept striving for more and NEVER GAVE UP.

I believe what Barney has to say is very relatable to us, if we believe in ourselves and put in the traning we can go above and beyond in our career, sales, service, and professional life.
